SantaCraft

It is the most wonderful time of the year, and children all around the world are waiting for their presents. Unfortunately, the factories are running low on Toys due to a supply chain issue. It is up to you, the most experienced elf, to collect resources (wood, stone, iron) and craft Toys in time for Christmas Eve.

Welcome to Santacraft, a game crafted with love by a small team and submitted to the December 2023 Games Contest. We hope you enjoy playing Santacraft as much as we enjoyed creating it! Please share your thoughts and feedback with us.

Santacraft Controls and Operations

Movement:

• W / A / S / D: Move the player within the Santacraft world.

Interaction:

• Mouse Left-Click: Interact with objects. For example, left-clicking on a tree will collect wood in Santacraft.
  • This also applies to interacting with crafting buildings and the Santacraft shop.
• E (Press and Hold): Craft items. When you are close to a crafting building (Wood Workstation, Stone Workstation, Smelter, Tool Making Workstation, Toy Manufacturing Workstation), hold 'E' to craft the respective items. Refer to the 'Crafting' section for more details on Santacraft crafting.

Inventory Management:

• Q: Drop an item.
• Tab: Open / Close Inventory in Santacraft.

Game Progress:

• Escape: Pause the game.

Collect resources, craft Toys, and put them into the sleigh before Christmas Eve!

Santacraft Crafting

There are 5 types of crafting buildings in Santacraft:

1. Wood Workstation: Craft Wood Planks from Wood.
2. Stone Workstation: Craft Stone Bricks from Stone.
3. Smelter: Craft Iron Ingots from Iron Ore.
4. Tool Making Workstation: Craft Pickaxes from Wood Planks and Iron Ingots. Craft Axes from Wood Planks and Iron Ingots. Craft Spears from Wood Planks and Iron Ingots. (Tools will degrade after usage. Make sure to have enough tools available.)
5. Toy Manufacturing Workstation: Craft Toys from Wood Planks, Stone Bricks and Iron Ingots.

Santacraft Shop

You can sell resources and items, or purchase specific resources from the shop.

Santacraft Sleigh

Drop the crafted Toys into the sleigh. The progress bar at the top displays the total amount of Toys collected.

• Resources: There are 3 types of resources in Santacraft: wood, stone, iron ore.
• Crafting: Tools (Axe, Pickaxe, Spear) and Materials (Wood Plank, Stone Brick, Iron Ingot), and Toys.
• Tool Degradation: Tools will degrade over usage.
• Inventory Capacity: Players have limited inventory space in Santacraft.
• Shop (Selling / Buying): Sell resources and items, or purchase specific resources.
• Day / Night Cycle: Santacraft features a simple day/night cycle.
• Enemies: Beware of evil snowmen wandering in the Santacraft world! Make sure to take your spear to defeat them.
• Progress Tracking: Tracks the amount of Toys deposited into the sleigh.
• Pause Menu: Pause the game and quit.

Q: Is there an end goal for Santacraft? A: The main objective of Santacraft is to collect and craft as many toys as possible. The game will exit after Christmas Eve.

Q: Which game engine was Santacraft developed on? A: Santacraft was developed using the Unity engine.
